Naval police arrested 3 people for extracting sand from Jamuna river in Dhunat upazila

Naval police arrested 3 people for illegally extracting sand from the Jamuna River in the Dhunat upazila of Bogra and selling it. This operation was conducted under the leadership of OC Delwar Hossain of Sirajganj Sadar Naval Police Station on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, two naval dredger machines loaded with sand were seized.

The arrested are Al Amin (51), son of deceased Zainal Abedin of East Guadhuri village of Gosaibari union of Dhunat upazila, Asif (20) son of Wazed Ali of Shahrabari village of Vandarbari union and Rabiul Islam (20) son of Shahidul Islam of the same village.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sirajganj Sadar Naval Police Station Delwar Hossain said that a person named Rafiq Shah of the Gosaibari area of Dhunot police station was illegally extracting sand from Jamuna River with two boat-driven dredger machines. 3 people along with two boat-driven dredger machines were arrested while extracting sand in the Kayagari and Baniajan areas of Vandarbari Union of Dhunat police station on Saturday afternoon. He also said that a case had been filed in this incident.
