A school student named Pratya (12) died after drowning in the river in Dhunat Upazila of Bogra. Locals recovered the body of the school student from Ichamati river in Chardhunat village around 5 pm on Friday (June 2).
The deceased school student Prathaya Chardhunot is the son of prominent cosmetics businessman Akash of Chardhunot village and he was a 6th standard student of Government Naeem Uddin Pilot Model High School, Dhunat.
According to the locals, around 12 noon on Friday, Prathaya went to bathe in the Ichamati river near the house with her stepmother. At one point in his mother’s laundry, Pratya disappeared. After a lot of searching, locals pulled a net in the river and recovered his body after 5 hours.
In this regard, Dhunat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rabiul Islam said that after receiving the news, the police visited the spot and prepared a report on the condition of the body.
